A cover letter should be submitted along with the manuscript. The letter should indicate the intended category of the submission.
The manuscript must be typed in Bangla using 11-point Siyam Rupali font (Download Siyam Rupali here) with double space between headings and single space throughout the manuscript. The manuscript should be prepared using a Unicode compliant Bangla keyboard interface (such as “Avro”). If you are using Windows operating system (Windows 10 or higher), you may also activate the Bangla phonetic keyboard natively by making some changes in the language setting. In this case, you will be able to type Bangla, even without having Avro. You may use this tutorial video for installing this option.
Bangla manuscripts can also be created by verbal dictation. “Speech to Text Bangla” is a software that converts Bangla speech into text. This software works only in Google Chrome (Version 25 or higher). The created manuscripts may be saved as editable Text or Doc Files.
Scientific terms should be kept in English if suitable Bangla synonyms are complicated or unavailable. You may use this English-Bengali Dictionary of Technical Terms for scientific terms and this Bengali-English Dictionary as a reference for Bangla spelling.
In accordance with a decision made by the BJIS Executive Board on January 21, 2004, authors are now have the option to submit an English version of their manuscript alongside the original Bangla version. This English version can be either a full-length article or a summary and will be accessible through a link in the Bangla article.
The full-length English version will undergo peer-review and will be assigned a separate DOI number. Authors should follow the same manuscript preparation guidelines for the English version as they do for the Bangla version. For convenience, a sample English article is available through the link provided here.
It is essential that the English version accurately represents the content of the Bangla test and is written in clear, error-free English. Authors concerned about the language quality are strongly encouraged to seek editorial assistance before submission.
The manuscript should be arranged in the following order:
